Who else got this very suspicious LPU auctions mail? They want us to send our username and current LPU password.

Any confirmation from LPUHQ?

I wouldn’t say it’s fake.
I saw earlier that LPU Auctions are opening another round [check it out at lpuauctions.com] in 12/2/2011, so it doesn’t seems fake to me.
btw, I didn’t get this email.
BUT - if they’re saying to send your LPU username + password, please don’t do it and sign up ONLY in LPU Auctions website.
btw, what’s the email that sent you this mail?

Hey everyone,

Stephanie from LPUHQ here. The email requesting your LPUnderground.com password for LPU Auctions isn’t fake. The majority of LPU members didn’t get the email. The only people that received it were members who signed up for an auctions account during the first auction that took place at the end of LPUX. If you didn’t sign up for an auctions account yet, then you didn’t get the email. Since we no longer use Topspin to verify your memberships, and we use the current platform, we need a way to verify your membership. Otherwise you can’t bid.

So if you signed up for an auction account already and went to try to log in you wouldn’t be able to get in. That’s the reason we asked for your password, so we could go in the system and add it for you. If you don’t want to provide the password that’s totally fine, but you’ll need to sign up with a new auctions account with a brand new email address.

lpuauctions.com an auction platform for LP items only for LPU members

Thank you Stephanie. I mailed the info to everyone who got the mail.
It’s very unusual to mail your password…that’s why I was skeptic.

Pay Pal Accounts can be linked to your bank directly.

I just wanted to clarify my comment. To join PAYPAL you dont need a Credit Card.

To join LPU AUCTIONS you need check/debit card or a credit card.
