LIVING THINGS: LP's strongest album is terms of lyrics!?

What’s everyone think?

When listening to this album. I am floored by how amazing the lyrics are. I think lyrically speaking they up’ed the game ten fold.

It’s prob my favorite album lyric wise and certainly the best LP album in terms of lyrics. It’s pretty deep, really well written and really smart in places too.

Anyone else think this?

I think living things is veeery strong (talking about lyrics) but I don’t think that is stronger than meteora or hybrid theory, meteora and HT lyrics talk about someone that is extremely angry to someone else, about people being ignored or mistreated that say fuck off! I don’t want to live like this anymore. And living things’ lyrics are dedicated to heart broken people, I think that this album is waaaaaaay better than a thousand suns and minutes to midnight and waaay stronget but not than meteora and hybrid… But that’s my opinion hehehe

You have heard Until it Breaks right. I feel that might be the WORST Linkin Park song…ever. Aside from the difficulty of just hearing it…the lyrics are just, laughable. Maybe I don’t get the point Mike’s trying to make. Lyrically, this is the worst LP album in my opinion.

I think Meteora is the strongest in terms of lyrics then perhaps ATS and LT

I’m really struggling to love Until it breaks =( It’s prob the only song on an LP album I’m not sure if I like.

For me before, every song I loved. Some more than others but I loved it all. This song is completely meh. It sounds almost like Mike is trying to be that ‘cool rap guy’ but I have no idea where the song is going or what the point of it is. Chesters singing is good, but I don’t get how it fits and Brads part at the end is even worse.

I have to respectably disagree. I mean Mike showed off multiple styles with the rap and it might not be his strongest lyrical showing it was still very impressive. I really like the dynamics of the song. The reason I love LP is cuz they are dynamic rather than static. Many bands or artists have “a sound” it can be great dont get me wrong but what LP does great is show how versatile they are while sounding great! I love this song, I think it flows very well!

i think i disagree on this
i have read all the songs, the lyrics
and some things arent as clear to me as for example on the first 2 albums

living things is F epic
lyrics is amazing
but when it only comes to lyrics i dont think living things is the best

YO, imma let you finish, but Until it breaks has some of the best lines Mike ever written.
It’s epic until 1:05 when Chester ruins the song, and the 3rd verse sux, but the first two just blow my mind away. Brad’s singing is also added unnecessarily.

hey hey…

Nothings LP will make in the future cant beat HT or meteora.

Living things are better then ATS and M2M, but it cant beat they’re 2 first albums. I think

lyricly its awsome i honestly think meteora was stronger lyricly but i can truly say that lp is one of the deepest lyrical bands ive ever heard.

Living Things is faaaaaaar from being the strongest in terms of lyrics, simply become it’s too superficial! In my opinion, I think Living Things is only a ‘‘mainstream A Thousand Suns’’. Lyrics don’t go as deep, and don’t always have many interpretations, people can less associate with the lyrics.

The lyrics in MTM are the best LP has ever wrote. They are the most serious and most mature… ATS is a close second.

I disagree with that. I can relate to the majority of those songs if not all and I think while some do have one solid meaning there are a couple that can be interpreted different ways. In my opinion it was deeper than A Thousand Suns on a personal level but not deeper in general meaning if that makes sense. But, to each their own. [smile]

I really like Living Things too but more so on the over all ‘sound’ and melodies.dont get me wrong, I’m a bleeding heart by nature and love LT but I actually prefer to listen to the instrumental.

Lyrically I think LP stood strongest with A Thousand Suns - you can listen and contemplate each song and can still pull together about 50 thousand different cross meanings daily. It was poetry.

And Meteora and HT were completely raw - it was almost as though listening to someone’s vocal diary!

In saying that it really seems like LP is taking leaps and bounds with each album. It’s like the music is gaining maturity along with the band: from raw spastic teens, to poetic young adults, to now true adult artists - I dunno - it keeps getting better and better! What will be next…

The flow is exactly what I love about Until it Breaks - not a song I’d listen to while on shuffle but definitely cover to cover: there’s something about how it moves into Tinfoil/Powerless that gets me every time.

I rather liked Brad’s part at the end… I thought it was more impressive than some people give him credit for. [neutral]

I just fell in love with Asbestos. Give it back, give it back, g-g-give it back

Lyrically you can tell he was still “coming up with rhymes while recording”, I like it

Lyrics wise I think this album is magnificant. Though I must honestly admit. I like the lyrics on all albums a lot. Every song had depth to it… Every song album, fits to a certain mood and all lyrics hit me hard all the time.
And even, if some suggest that certain lyrics are poor… the way Chester and Mike bring them… makes it amazing in itself. Makes it better then it’ll ever be if sung by another artist.
It’s not that I am uplifting everything they do. But they touch me, the lyrics touch me. It’s raw, real and honest. So yeah love these lyrics. Especially cause it is saving what I have. And that personally means a lot.

I definitely agree that’s the most powerful.

LT have strong lyrics, but say it’s the strongest album I disagree, Hybrid Theory is in my opinion more. (Speaking of lyrics).
LT is a greaaaat album! Lost in the echo have an amazing energy, I really like.
