It must have been 10 years ago.
I was in the search for a fanfiction to read and found a Linkin Park fanfiction. The story was really great and I put YT on the songs to hear which was talking in the story. I was immediately impressed!!!
Linkin Park’s music is my anchor! It is there, when everything else leaves me! Can’t anymore live without it!
My sister bought LPs first two cds when they came out. But she changed her musictaste around 2006 and gave all her CDs away. She asked me if i want to have some. So I took HT and Meteora cuz i liked the sound. I fell in love with their music one year later when i bought MTM
Well, must have been 2001.
I was living in Spain and I went through a really hard time. I was in my early twenties and trying to figure out who I was and what the hell I’m gonna do with this life of mine. I remember sitting in a cab crying when they played “In The End” on the radio. The lyrics really spoke to me. It summed up pretty good what I was feeling. So I went to a store and bought “Hybrid Theory”. Linkin Park has been a part of my life since then.
I recently saw them perform the entire album at Download Festival in Donington/UK. It was AWESOME!
Wow I feel old hearing about how peoples’ parents got them the CDs or casettes!! It’s on my profile but for me it was Papercut: the first LP song I heard back when I was 13 and going through a tough time at high school: I was relentlessly bullied (even by people claiming to be my friends) and my self esteem was very low but the music really did get me through!
I have been into linkin park ever since their first album hybrid theory. I was only about 8 years old at the time and can remember seeing the film clip for one step closer and in the end on TV, and me and my friends were like ? who are these people these songs rock! The film clip for in the end and one step closer are awesome. One step closer with the green tunel and in the end with the effect like they are under water but with whales that can fly and the long green glass! haha This is a band that when you start out with will never turn away from it and I guarantee that because they know how to compose music.
It all started when I was 8 or 9 years-old, I don’t remember exactly, but it happened before the releasing of Reanimation. There is a tv channel that is all about video clips and then my best friend told me there was a very cool video with some guys in a tunnel, everything was greenish, a guy with red hair and the other was screaming, etc. (One Step Closer, obviously). Before that, I started asking my mother to buy the records for me and now, here I am! 12 years in love with this band. [heart]
I started a thread like this about 5 weeks ago
Whilst I loved “Numb” when it first received radio play here in Australia, I had never actually listened to Linkin Park. Naturally downloading music was hard for a then 8 year old. I enjoyed the song but never owned a copy until a couple years later when “Numb/Encore” made its debut. Still, music was hard for me to get as a 10 year old.
Despite numerous singles receiving air play, it wasn’t until “New Divide” came around in 2009 with Transformers that actually got me looking into the bands discography itself. I consider myself lucky in this way, as I feel as being exposed to these 2 songs, radically different, and loving them both is what got me into the band. I actively followed any all news after the release of “New Divide” has my interest had peaked and I was now desperately awaiting the release of a new album. Boy was I not disappointed, I loved “A Thousand Suns.” Watching the short recording session preview of what we now know as “When They Come For Me” on YouTube still gets me super excited. Something about Brad shouting with that megaphone got me insanely pumped.
Linkin Park has been a part of my life ever since I could walk, no joke, my dad first got Meteora and it was the first CD I ever enjoyed (Faint was the song that my dad played for me to sleep) and from 3 years old to 13 now, Linkin Park still has a special place in my mind, Paranoid was my favorite song for 3 years. I didn’t like living things that much so I kind of lost interest in LP, but now the Hunting Party brought me back to their genius. Now I listen to Linkin Park nonstop!
I first got ‘‘linkinparked’’ in early 2003 around the time that Somewhere I Belong came out to promote their new album, Meteora. I was 13 at the time and I just connected with the band. After that I went out and bought Meteora the day it came out and I joined the LPU later that year and I’ve been a die-hard soldier ever since. I love LP.
