I was I think 15? Been so long, it is really hard to remember. I heard a song called Part of Me at a friends house. He was really big into the underground music scene introduced me to that song. He told me the band was called Hybrid Theory.

Not long after I heard One Step Closer on the radio and thought they sounded familiar, but couldn’t put my finger on it. I did a search online and found out they were called Linkin Park. I bought the Hybrid Theory album and then joined the LPU shortly after. I then found out once I got the Hybrid Theory EP that the song Part of Me was their song. Apparently I had listened to a song that was prior to a band name change. Ironically I didn’t put 2 and 2 together when they named their first studio album Hybrid Theory until I did some research on the band lol. Then again. I wasn’t always the brightest when I was that young lol.

Have to admit though. They have become one of my most favorite bands and still are. Even though I didn’t care for a couple of their albums to start. They eventually grew on me. I do believe I own everything that has ever been recorded by them that is available. Hard to say. Wish I had a check list. lol

I was 20 and it was ‘Crawling’. Remember like it was yesterday  I was amazed with music and Chester’s voice.

I was about 10

I first heard ‘In The End’ my sophomore year of highschool in fall of 2001. I was 15 and i was the new kid (for like the 8th time in my life) and a group of kids who were already Linkin Park fans shared headphones with me one day at lunch and I was hooked. Have been a fan ever since, I turned 31 this year. My oldest son turned 11 this year and got his first Linkin Park album (One More Light on vinyl) and is a huge fan too.

I was about 13 years old (14 years ago). My brother introduced me to them and one of the first songs I remember listening to was Nobody’s Listening. I became obsessed with that song and then later In The End and Numb.

I heard In the End in 2000 on the radio or saw it on MTV. I was 22 back then.

I first heard them when I was 7. I heard What I’ve Done at the end of Transformers. Then New Divide at the end of Transformers 2. I wasn’t really an active music listener until I was 14. I started rediscovering them and checked out all their songs on youtube. They had a special effect on me. No other band could match the level of emotion they put into their songs. They’re the best band ever!:metal::smiley:

10, 11? (fifteen or more years ago now) Changed me forever, and that’s no understatement. My first SpIn that made me engage on multiple levels. It was like I’d never been fully alive before. Made me begin to combine imagery/art and sound/music and meaning- since then I have discovered more artists who have deepened me in areas of that triptych but it was LP who first brought me there. That was fifteen or so years ago now.
*I have to add, I started on Hybrid Theory, which I loved, went to Meteora which I loved more- but A Thousand Suns is and will always be my favorite on so many levels.

18, well, this year.
I didn’t know about LP before this summer, except I had “Burn it down” in my phone since many years, but didn’t pay attention about the crew who made it.

Actually, I made a traineeship and someone I met there wanted to know what kind of music I listen to… Well, I think it wasn’t what he excepted to, and then he put different musics for me. Then came “In the end”, and I was like “wtf is that” (so diff from what I’m used to), but he told me a lil bit about LP. Didn’t hook the song at all, but I was somewhat sad because I knew Chester passed away.

THEN, I came back home and told myself “it would be a great idea to discover these different groups”. So I listened to LP again and again until I understand how powerful it is, cried as much as I could because Chester is not here anymore… And finally, I recognised parts of me in their lyrics, in the screams… I think that helps me, and is gonna contribute to something good in my life.
(sorry that’s long and not well written, I’m a lil french who doesn’t know how to speak english)

I bought Hybrid Theory & Minutes to Midnight at first and found out the Underground (with the little flyer about LPU inside), seems to be a nice crew !
