Nonsense. The bored will switch over it. No reason to not entertain us with your stories. Especially your wedding preps! Love American weddings!
So now my OT story:
I took over my fathers and his wifes farm for five days. Its the first time in four years. They have as help a apprentice. She is a nice but talkative little thing. And she works already two years on the farm, had her shepherd exams, is a full educated shepherd now and so finished here. But my father pays her a little longer, cause he don’t think I can handle 1200 sheep on my own. annoyed me a little, cause I really prefer to work on ny own. But ok.
Then the first day, she will draw me a map, so I know were to lead the flock from the pen on dryer land into the moor. I say: nonsense, just you lead the flock. I walk behind. So I know the way.
And then it turns out that she had NEVER lead the flock. To that, she had never tended on her own, just always under my father. and remember she should be a trained shepherd by now. But my father in all his controlling ways and his “that’s the only way a shepherd can do this!” mentality had never once let her loose.
Boy! That’s not for me! I let her lead the flock to the pasture. And she did great. Then she asked were she and her dog should stand to be not in my way and I can direct her. And I? No, girl. Here take over the flock!
I explained of course a little what I wanted to see. Something my father also neglected, couse she should just watched him. And then I took my dogs (Lille is a little frustrated by now) and left. Not to far, so I could have a eye from the distance and be in reach.
Later as I met up again, boah, what a happy girl! To have the flock on her own! To work her dog like she wants! To try and error how she get the best grazing results! She is really up flying.
And that’s what’s going on right now! I let her do the job, sit or sleep somewhere in the grass. Sadly no reception enough to be here and my book sucks. But it doesn’t matter, its blusting!
To all and always! Stay strong!
