Like Jordan/TripleXero said, Jon works for ground(ctrl), but also helps HQ moderate the site. Anyone you see with “(crtl)” at the end of their user name works for ground(ctrl)

PS: As far as your question, HQ will ask you if there becomes an opening for another moderator. And being a moderator is a lot of hard work, and there aren’t as many “perks” as you may assume.
