And after another try this

20200701_200432

It says, there is a problem. A new srart is needed. It will start.

Be specific, what was it that happened exactly? Did it freeze up, was it processing something, did Word go white, did you get a blue screen of death?

What exactly happend before the blue screen?

That’s how a blue screen crash works, it restarts itself once it gets its shit together, it doesn’t need input from you.

Welcome to the W10 survivors’ club.

I was working in work. Changed a text part from times new roman to Ariel.
Then I wanted to continue the writing in times new roman, switched it.
Wanted to start writing.
But nothing happend. The I for writing wasn’t blinking, no mouse in sight and just nothing happend.
I waited for some time.
Tryed escape.
Then I pressed off.
The screen went blank.
I waited for some time.
Pressed again.
It showed that black result.
The blue one came with the next try.
Did some trys more.
Never got me anywhere.

I will bring it tomorrow morning to the mechanic.

And yeah, you said it. But no, I didn’t secure the stuff I worked on, since I have it.

So you can’t boot up the laptop now?

Just tried it again.

It says
Automatical repair
Your pc is not correctly started
Push new start to start new (already tried, just hang up again) sometimes you can solve the problem. You also can click on more options to try to repair your pc.

Let it do the self repair and see what happens. Also, if you want, send me your number to the_termin8r@yahoo.co.uk so I can try and help over whatsapp.

Blue screen errors…brings back memories from the days of Win XP

Called my technician and described what happened.
He said, he had this the last two weeks with updating laptops with brother printer software.
What mine has.
So he saw no reason to bring the laptop in.
His last words:
Welcome to Windows 10

Rob, again, thank you very much!!!

Man knows exactly what he’s dealing with. I’m glad it’s not a hardware issue, because it means my recommendation was actually fine…for now. lol

:joy:

I said the same last night.

I call it the survivors’ club because W10 is an abuser.

an abuser which is gonna cost you a hundred pounds for a license…

macOS is also driving me mad sometimes. Not in the main functions but still… maybe i should try Linux?

F–k this sh–t

I mean. really? I wanted a bigger speed (bigger than 100 mb/s) of internet and… well. we’re f–ed up. I mean, the guy setting it up was a great dude and did his job, but we can’t bring a new cable inside - the wall between us an the corridor is one of the main ones and is around 1,5m thick… so we’ve decided to use the existing outlet network. Three channels out of 8 are not working due to the cable damage… and the guys from the first provider company knew it - they’ve connected the outlet to 4 channels instead of one

I guess we’ll eventually drill the wall between the toilet and the corridor and will drag a cable through it… eventually

And yeah, the divider - or how to call it properly? - the switch? I’ve heard them naming it the switch - the actual connector between you and the incoming wire is outside. We can’t place a router outside !

UPD
I’m not surprised though - the guy who did the actual wiring job does it pretty bad. He can forget where exactly in the wall did he put the wire and then drill RIGHT through it - that happened when he did the grandma’s flat and we had to re-wire the antenna

Or about £5 if you got it off Ebay like I did. I got lucky and got a legit one. :joy:

If it has all the software you need, why not?

What do you need that much speed for?

What’s annoying is that there’s only one provider for fibre in my area (yes, in London, one of the centres of civilisation) and they keep hiking their prices while providing a fairly bad service. There was an outage recently that made the national news and when it’s supposedly fine, I keep getting disconnected from the router.

It’s not a laptop or router issue because I moved back to our copper connection (yes, we pay for 2 because the copper is part of the phone deal) for the past week. It’s slower in loading pages, but I haven’t been disconnected even once. I also did wired and wireless tests for both connections.

Our fibre is about 100-110 on the DL, the copper is around 30. What’s suprprising is that a year ago, you’d be lucky if you got 5 on the copper. Anyway, we’ll be cancelling the fibre soon because their prices are getting idiotic.

I just want a proper speed for the same amount of money - our current provider costs us the same yet it’s only a 100mbs

Ah, if there’s no price difference, then yeah go for it. Over here I don’t even want to know how bad prices would be for anything higher.

YES! Exactly the same story. And you should’ve seen their workers - they act like they’re in charge in your damn house!

And yeah, i mean the very first provider, not the one i’ve tried to switch to and failed
