As an avid Lego fan I have become impervious to treading on Lego with bare feet. I can walk miles of the stuff.
I believe you!!! But most of the times I walk on them half asleep with no light because I am checking my kids… And this is pain 
I haven’t had mine on the ground since I got a desk a few years ago. I got used to treading on mine in the night. Now I’ve gone once worse. I’ve got to watch out for small nail heads around my desk as I’ve had to nail down my carpet protector as it keeps moving as i walk on it or move my chair.
Usually they are in their box before my kids go to bed… But there’s one…it is always one😂!

As a kid I used to have it on my bed, but I’d remove the duvet and when I go to put the lego away I’d always miss one and lie on it.

Sounds better than stepping on it and bite your hand not to scream!!!
It would usually be somewhere near my legs and I’d notice it just as I’m about to fall asleep so I have to wake up and find it.
I once fell off my bed at night, landed right in my pile of lego which I told myself I’d put away in the morning. Talk about karma.

This was several years ago.
For the last 3 years ,once a week (at least) I step on one of them!!! I was really bad in my past life
How are you not used to it by now? I’ve gotten used to it because when I used to have it on the floor and I wanted to get to the other end of the room I had no choice but to walk over it.
Maybe because I don’t expect to step on them and there’s always hope that this torture will stop!!!
You don’t expect it even though you’ve been treading on them for ages? It’s like expecting a tiger to not rip you to shreds after you punch it in the face. 
I am a person with high hopes!!! I hope that someday it will stop…I find it more probable to survive from the tiger than to stop stepping on these things!!!
