What are your thoughts on the album RECHARGED?

[quote=Shoegaze4u]@LPradeepS I didn’t read that statement by Chester so far. Thx for sharing! It wipes away all my concerns about the direction that the next record could take. Death metal? Pantera? Can’t wait to hear more!!!

Recharged was always going to be a one off experiment. LP wanted to prove that they could appeal to the masses and they’ve done exactly that. However, Recharged was not for me. I sat and listened to the entire album and enjoyed a few mixes. The SchoolBoy remix was pretty cool. But there was one remix that confused the hell out of me. The ‘Lost In The Echo’ remix. Now, I can’t tell whether I like this song or not. Mike’s rap behind that drum beat sounds amazing but the Dubstep after Chester screams ‘Let You Go!’ makes my ears bleed. I literally cannot stand it.
So I’m glad that Linkin Park have got the Dubstep out of their system and are leaving it there. Or at least I hope so. And a Pantera-Style album is exactly what they need to get the older fans worked up and loving the old and the new Linkin Park.

I absolutely love it! Linkin Park is such a dynamic band, they can do anything they set their minds to adn i love the fact that they do change their style and experiment with new sounds. It makes every album a journey to listen to and makes their songs super personal. Not like all these other guys that make music just for the sake of making money or trying to fit in with society. These guys have the balls to do what ever they want!! Super inspirational!

I have to admit that I’m really surprised with Recharged. I usually don’t like remix, but with Recharged was the oposite!! I liked all the musics!! It is like “Linkin Park for rave”! hahahahaha
I’d already listened to A light that never comes and now I think it is more perfect!!
The only remix that I didn’t liked was the Victimized. I really don’t liked it.
I have no doubts that the originals are better than the remixes, but they are both good!!

And, like you all, I’m waiting for the new album!!

I think it’s very entertaining in it’s own way. It’s supposed to be different than Reanimation. I like most of the tracks. My three favorite are A Light that Never Comes, Lost in the Echo, and I’ll Be Gone (the one with Pusha T).

the only tracks i really have a problem with are the dirtyphonics LGM mix and datsik’s UIB mix. datsik’s doesn’t really stick to the “suite” theme that was in the original song - if he had worked with that theme (like the schoolboy q mix did) i would’ve liked it a little more. the dirtyphonics mix annoys me - it doesn’t reflect the energy of the original song.
