To be honest, I was kinda impressed, but also surprised after the first listening and THP is one of the very few cases where I have to immediately give it another listen to properly rate it.
Not sure where to place it when ranking the different albums, since each record brings its own unique sound and they are just very hard to compare.
However, I think it’s a fantastic album, introducing an aggressive tone that I wouldn’t have expected Linkin Park to go for anymore.
It has its rather “quiet” moments, but overall LP certainly succeed in reviving a sound that has gone missing over the past few years.
I can’t wait to experience the new songs live for the first time in November!
well, the album is surely different but hasnt disappointed me. my favorite songs are Until Its Gone, Wastelands and Final Masquerade for sure.
In all honesty I think it’s my favourite album.
It’s got the energy and LP spark, and it sounds awesome live
Can’t wait to hear the new songs life. November can’t wait.
It’s my favourite LP album ever! My favourite songs are REBELLION, FM, KTTK and War!
Think is a nice one. [wink]
REBELLION RULES!!!
Can’t wait to hear live[biggrin]
I was waiting for this album 7 years ago, words for The Hunting Party: IS AMAZING!!!
This album is just amazing. I really like how they promoted the album firstly through the shazam preview of GATS, then slowly releasing the other singles(and even without radio promotion the album is doing just great). I do feel that it doesn’t just leave right off from where Meteora ended, but rather that it contains elements from all their past works and experiences. For example, I find that “Final Masquerade” is reminiscent of “Numb” and “All For Nothing” is Hybrid Theory-esque, but “A Line In The Sand” is Living Things-esque (“Victimized” especially). Overall, I liked the album so much that it is now my favorite!
Best album for me with Meteora.
The Songs are so good. My favourite is Rebellion
I cant compare it to any of the other albums, each and every album has its own sound and this one is different again… I love every single album from lp including this! A line in the sand is my fav at the moment,
Mikes voice is just hypnotising, love chester screaming in it and love the heaviness of the music
Having listened the album through a few times now I’m liking it more and more, my fave will probably always be Meteora, MTM and Reanimation, but this one is getting closer to the faves
Until It’s Gone is definitely my favorite song, but I also love Rebellion and Guilty All The Same.
Its a great album. One of my favorites. I tend to leave their most recent CD in my car until they make a new album.
The Hunting Party in an outstanding album. It offers a lot of diversity on many different levels.
I don’t have one favorite song. I love them all. But A Line In the Sand does represent me the most, with what I am dealing with in my life right now.
I love how it buitls up, unleashes and calmes down.
I absolutely love how raw the vocals are in this album. Chester’s voice is really raw, edgy, full of emotion, strikingly clear with the emotion of every certain song.
In the beginning I had to get used to it. Now I can’t imagine the album without it.
And Mike’s voice and rap parts are so steady and strong.
The guitar rifs, drums, instrumentals, it all builts up. Makes me edgy, makes me strong, crazy, powerfull, nuts, angry, happy, confused… but above all healed.
I love the lyrics. How it’s sung, how it feels like certain emotions while they are not what they seem to be.
For me it’s a journey I love to be on. I absolutely love this album. It’s been on nonstop since its release. And I cannot wait to hear it live on the fall Europe tour.
But all albums speaks to me. That’s why I Love Linkin Park so freaking much.
I really enjoy listening to the whole album. Not sure what my favourite track is because I think that there are many new LP anthems to hear, maybe my favourite track is “All Or Nothing” at this stage.
THP is an amazing record! no doubts! THP could actually have been on the same level as Meteora! it’s not far from being close to Meteora. Even Though the album is amazing there are some flaws on it aswell. first thing is that it only has 10 songs and not 11 like all the previous ones( except ATS because that was a concept record with 9 songs and 6 interludes/instrumentals/fillers/intros/outros. but you can count Jornada Del Muerto and Fallot as songs because they do infact sing on them but they’re not really songs). they should have had a full song instead of The Summoning!! The Summoning sucks so bad! it doesen’t even work as an outro to GATS nor as an intro to War! when you listen to THP, you sit there and enjoy the first three songs then when The Summoning comes on you just sit there bored and wait for War to start. The Summoning almost ruins the whole album! the second thing is that they should not put an instrumental track in the middle of the album, if they have instrumentals on the album they should put them as the very first track or somewhere on the end of the record! THP is the second best album after Meteora( but if it had one more song instead of The Summoning then it could have been just as good as Meteora or atleast very close to it!) When it comes to the sound on each record by LP I have nothing bad to say, the sound on every album is amazing! but they have done some mistakes with their choices over the years( changing their sound is not one of those mistakes!) LP has six records but only three of those records are solid records. Meteora, MTM and LT are the solid ones! HT is actually solid but when you know that the song High Voltage should have been between Cure For The Itch and Pushing Me Away you realise that it actually isn’t.
THP is awesome! ^0^ Love listening to it! Not sure on my fav track atm, but I think it would be Guilty All the Same or A Line In The Sand. I don’t have a fav album as each one is so different, but I love all of them! ^0^ I’ve also loved watching them grow as a band, they’re still as awesome as when I first listened to Runaway!
LP played:
Guilty all the Same
Final Masquerade
Rebellion
Wastelands
In concert this week in Virgnia
I like it [lol] It’s not my favourite LP album but I really like it, it took a few listens personally. I enjoy that each album is different in it’s own way but that each one still retains LP’s style. Favourite songs are A Line In The Sand, Mark The Graves, All For Nothing and Until It’s Gone [cool]
As for me, the best record that i’ve ever heard.
I can’t stop playing it in the car, my headset or wherever I go.
How I wish they could perform the entire album in Argentina… dreaming is a free stuff.
I really love “All For Nothing” because Mike’s rapping really emphasizes the rhythm of the song. I also like “Drawbar” because it’s the perfect lead into “Final Masquerade.” “Wastelands” and “Until It’s Gone” are also high ranking on my list. But I think my favorite part of the album is the lineup, especially the end of “All For Nothing” where Chester and Mike discuss briefly “putting the heavy shit right there” and it leading into “Guilty All the Same,” which was definitely the heavy shit. “A Line in the Sand” was also a spectacular ending to the album, with the short mix of the music at the end and Mike’s outro making it sound really nostalgic, but really awesome at the same time.
Just kinda bummed out that I won’t be able to see them when they come to my city (not very often that happens, if it happens at all ). I’m still really enjoying the sound of this album, despite all the people saying how it’s too different from what they started with back in Hybrid Theory. I think LP’s done an amazing job at evolving with the times, and might be the only band who’s done so so successfully. I haven’t been a Soldier very long at all, but I feel as if the different feel of each album has taken me through their entire journey as a band. THP is still relatively new, but I already can’t wait until their next album.
