Pokemon Go Thread

How does it know you’re not lying about being a passenger?

It doesn’t, but it pops up every minute so it is annoying enough to make someone stop using the app if they’re driving.

Can anyone help me find out how I get in touch with nez tic I tried there site and tried submitting a request but I think I Zambia submitting to the wrong place I’ve tried there web site but the contact us is covered by a tool bar that covers contact us if anyone can get me the email address or the phone number to get help playing as a disabled I’d appreciate it I’ll keep trying my self.

Sometimes, I get that warning at normal walking speed too. GPS messing up, I suppose.

These are currently my best Pokemon. Lots of doubles

I still haven’t cought an Abra :’(

It’s a gaming franchise aimed primarily at kids… and I am an adult now… but being born in 1990, I was at the perfect age when the first games came out to be absolutely addicted. Still remember playing through Blue Version for the first time, and then going crazy over Silver a year or two later. I’ve never grown out of those games, silly as that is. I’ve only played the true handheld RPG releases, however, so I can’t comment on Go. Right now I’m actually in the middle of playing Pokémon Y and enjoying it probably more than any of the games since generation II. Generations I and II are eternally the best Pokémon gens to me, however, software/hardware limitations be damned. I felt that the older pokemon/rivals/villains and backstories were a bit darker and more intriguing, and not so “kiddied” up as today’s games. I mean, gen 2 introduced the dark type, while gen 6 introduced the fairy type. Need more be said? And that’s just one example.

Pokémon is a bit similar to music (though not nearly as significant) in terms of what it does for my life: it gives me an entertaining means of expression (by way of what pokemon I use and nicknames/movesets I give them), and also it’s there for me whether I’m feeling good or depressed as fuck.

Got my first 10km egg today. I hope something good will come out of it when it hatches

Totally agree that all the new Pokemon look too fluffy and cuddly aka “kiddied up” as you say. I thought it was just me who thought it. Glad to know I’m not the only one

As for “kiddying up” games. It’s unfortunately what do with all sorts of games. WoW is a good example to that too. They’ve made that game way too easy now

I think the opposite is true about the evil teams in the games, it went from a somewhat mafia-like gang in the first two games to a group of people wanting to destroy the world in basically every game since

The new games seem to possibly be scaling it back again, though, and I really like the design of the new team compared to the past three games

Team Skull, Sun & Moon

compared to…

Team Galactic, Team Plasma, and Team Flare

All three of these look awful to me. I personally don’t enjoy Team Rocket’s look that much either, but it’s no where as bad as these. Aqua and Magma were pretty cool, though

You have a point. In a way, though, I felt the old “mafia”-like Team Rocket was… well, darker just in that their criminal activity seems more gritty and believable than the grand schemes of ruling/destroying the entire world in some obscure, supernatural way as the more recent PKMN villains try to. But you are definitely right in that destroying the world is a darker objective than “eh, lets make some money nefariously.” Maybe it’s the execution I take issue with.
Anyway, more than that, I was pointing to the differences in the rival characters between old and new games. In gen I, and especially II, your rival was kind of…well, an asshole. And I liked that, LOL. The newer rivals are too friendly, clingy, and one-dimensional for my tastes.

I totally agree about the team designs. Galactic, Plasma, and Flare look like they’re wearing cheesy Halloween costumes. Those newer ones on top do look pretty cool.

Thinking about it more, the “destroy the world with ______ (Pokemon/weapon/natural disaster)” thing is actually kinda more childish, in the way they do it at least. They have a small set of easily disrupted plans to use someone or something else to do what they want, while Team Rocket had a thought out plan, had secret bases like the one in their secretly owned casino and hidden members such as the most powerful gym leader in the region, stealing Pokemon themselves and even trying to steal the Master Ball

Also, I agree 100% with the rival thing. All the new ones suck, and as much as I liked X & Y, the basically 5 rivals was awful, and I could barely remember who was who

Yeah, the group of “rivals” in X/Y kind of annoyed me (I’m playing Y now), what with their following me around everywhere and making cheesy friendship speeches and what-not. I was always thinking “why don’t you guys go away and respect my privacy?” Early on when they asked my character what nickname I wanted them to call me, I chose something inappropriate and derogatory (after a few were rejected by the game’s profanity-censoring system) so that every time they greeted me I could feel like it was the old RBY days where your rival actually teased you a bit. It gave some of their innocent dialogues with my character a hilariously sarcastic bent, LOL.

I really wanted to find a Dratini and I finally did today. Kind of bummed it’s only 13CP (considering my friend’s was 300+ CP even though she’s at a lower level)

Awww too cute the dratini!

I know right?? Can’t wait to find more and evolve it!

All I’ve found today was a Golbat

I didn’t expect it to be this crazy out here today

EDIT: My 10km egg hatched, very pleased with what I got.

I just wasted 11 great balls and raspberries for a 890CP Pidgeot. The little f*cker broke free and ran away.

Someone getting game rage? :stuck_out_tongue:
