"One More Light" Mega-Topic, Out Now!

That being said, I might not have feelings for this song but I’m not gonna sit here and tell people how much I hate the new album and I want them to go back to the old stuff or how much I dislike Kiirar and would prefer Mike Shinoda over her voice.

Hmmmm don’t know how to feel about Good Goodbye
I like the chorus and Mikes rapping is electric as stated by others just feel that featured artist are getting far more track time then they should

I am up for two other rappers rapping but give Mike more time with the Mic

Guys, is it true that Mike said last night something about heavy music coming back soon??

No you dreamt it. Country album is next, then a possible jazz album in 2023.

No I did not dream it, just read a comment today.

I bet they will make heavy music again for LP8. OML is perfect for a break.

Speaking of what would be lp8,
Does anyone think it’s possible that 8 will come soon after oml considering they say they had a ton of songs to choose from? I mean OML could be short because those 10songs package up nicely thematically but then they would probably have material they intend to use in a harder album a year later or something?

What’s this “LP8” you all are speaking of?

Are you Air Force? I’m an Air Force wife.

So, on first listen, I actually already like “Good Goodbye” better than “Heavy” and “Battle Symphony.” Mike sounds VERY MUCH like G Eazy in his rap flow, though. I know he’s really been digging G’s record lately, but I want Mike to do “Mike.” I don’t want him to try to rap like other people 'cause it doesn’t feel natural to me. I also feel like his rap lyrically and emotionally was pretty weak, unfortunately. I think I liked Stormzy’s rap the best, but I agree with everyone that there are too many featured artists on this song that get too much mic time. This is not a song that should be on “One More Light.” This is a song that should be on the remix album of “One More Light.” I don’t understand how LP can say that this album means so much to them emotionally when they have so many featured artists on the album. If these words mean something to them, I want THEM to deliver it to us. I want to buy a Linkin Park album, not a “Various Artists” album.

I love Chester’s singing in the song. I don’t care for the “Alvin” voice either, but I don’t hate it. This is a very modern-sounding song and I can easily get into the way it sounds because of the modern hip-hop vibe to it, but…I want Linkin Park’s music. I don’t want the same regurgitated music you hear on the radio. I at least feel like I get a Linkin Park vibe from the song during Chester’s parts. This song of the three so far released feels most like a Linkin Park song, but I think this belongs on a remix album. After more listens, “Good Goodbye” will either grow on me more, or drop in my rankings, making “Heavy” my favorite of the singles so far due to it’s lyrical/emotional content.

Eww Force…

And no, LP8 means Linkin Park 8, which also translates into the official eighth record from the band. We use the “LP#” terminology when referencing the next record, before it’s named.

I was thinking the same. Maybe for the 2018 there will be a new album. I remember an interview where they say than they will releasing a new disc each two years, and that could be the reason for the numbers of the song

He was saying chester did a collab with a metal band(dont know their name). He said metal kids to be ready. Chester is also tweeting about the collab. He is exited about it.

So, probably they will go back to the 18 months timeline again after this album, right? Cuz this took more time by the collabs and other artist and songwriters they invited for this album in special.

I don’t think they’ll ever “go back” to 18 months. It as a silly idea Mike casually threw out there. There’s only been one instance of albums being less than 24 months apart from each other. Living Things and The Hunting Party. Linkin Park is apparently more ambitious than ever. Each of their own solo projects is continually taking more time from them, they’re spending more time with family, and they want to ensure they deliver top quality music.

I’m almost betting the album cycle will be 24 - 30 months from here on out.

I think its with the guitarist of the band Lamb of God. He has also said on a tweet “who’s ready to scream” or something like that and I am more excited for that than the album now!

I feel you bro. I’m equally exited.
