itunes ‘do’ leak albums as always ehh…no comments about it:/
Yeah I cant really find a reason to wait to listen, so I listened to it at least 10 times now all the way through, I actually cant see how a true or real fan can wait LOL, I want to hear new LP as soon as I can, always getting underground songs, demos, and I agree, being a member, paying 1000s of dollars for concert tickets over the years, merchandise, telling everyone how awesome LP is, posting on facebook etc, thats what makes a fan, your not less of a fan because you listen to a leak, that makes no sense lol. are you less of a human because you open a xmas present on xmas eve lol.
Not sure who screwed up in the iTunes World but, jeez… I imagine that person isn’t going to get a great performance review haha.
The guilty is that jerk who took that streaming in to a leak. By the way, something stupid for iTunes giving a streaming when the album is not released yet.
In my humble opinion, that was unnecessary.
I’m sticked to the challenge and my livingThingReleaseDay will be this June 19th in an official pre-listening party at Warner Music Argentina headquarters.
i still waiting
Nothing beats the excitement of getting an album in the post in the morning and spending the whole day listening to it on an authentic CD :]
And about being a fan, you don’t need to spend thousands of dollars on merchandise and tickets, posting on sites and telling everyone about them. You just gotta like them and their music and you’re as much of a fan as anyone else…
LOL @ this convo.
The itunes stream was intentional. If you think it was a screw up on itunes behalf then why has Warner not taken any legal action and why has it not bee in the news? “itunes makes big mistake with one of the worlds biggest bands”. Fact is that it was a ploy to created some hype and get the album out to crazy fans like us. Casual LP fans who won’t buy the album will not bother with a leak anyways. I would say most of the people who have got the leak have the intention of buying the album…that’s if they haven’t already pre-ordered it! The stream also happened on the same day as the Germany and LA listening parties… coincidence? hmmm.
Right now the whole ‘release day challenge’ thing is more of a personal test for those taking part. It is all by choice. Don’t freak at people who are listening to the album - you can too if you wish. I don’t believe the next few days will determine how big of a fan you are or if you like the album or not. You will just be proving to yourself that you love this band…just like listening to a leak is because you love this band.
Anyways, I do commend the people who are waiting. Would have been far too hard for me. Much respect.
I won’t be listening to the leak out of personal choice. I kinda enjoy the waiting and anticipation, even if it is a little masochistic. I mean, the build-up is part of the experience. You can’t get that back, that unknowing and the wondering at what the new album will sound like. Once Living Things is out, we’ll all know how it sounds, there will be no mystery left. I like that wait.
However, there is nothing wrong with listening to the leak with all the ferocity and devotion of a true fan. In the run-up to A Thousand Suns, Linkin Park streamed a few tracks on their MySpace. I listened then, but this time round I’ve chosen to listen to the album as a whole on the release day.
Only six more days in the UK!

i wait until june 22nd
I don’t care about the leak
I herad it already, also in germany u can get it within the 22th.
if u don’t want to know how it is don’t read this:
It’s freaking awesome, maybe their best album. The songs are,hmm sorry I’m speechless, but u have songs in it there u have to cry,and others there u just want to go on a concert an join a freaking mosh-pit^^
So thanks LP for not disappointing me
I listened to the first song and a half and I had to stop. I couldn’t continue…it felt really wrong and now I feel like I’ve sinned or something…
Who cares if you didn’t wait til the album came out. Any true fan would of have listened to it by now. Real fans wants to hear their music as soon as something comes out. Just because Mike said for everybody to wait for the cd to come out and make it special doesn’t mean you have too. Enjoy the album! Amazing.
itunes messed up - but the album was set to be streamed on the 19th anyways.
As a crazy fan, I couldn’t help but listen. I am a collector, so it’s not like I won’t buy every album version, single, and promo.
Just a heads up - this album will blow your fcuk1nG mind!!
