mplrecords is the same seller on eBay selling those EP’s on eBay. Of course hes Private listing them so you won’t know who bought them…nice.

At times, if you see the listings individually and ask for photos it may be the legit re-issue. Because well, we all know theres quite some sellers on Amazon.

Another thing you can do if you’re unsure about whether or not you have a bootleg: Check the catalog number. Sometimes it’s on the spine or the back of the case, and it should also be on the underside of the CD.

For example, the catalog number for the HTEP reissue is 20730-1.

EDIT: Discogs is a great place to check.

It is an ok indicator to a certain extent. The fakes do tend to replicate the same catalog # on the matrix at times, only time is they use a different font than the real deal so it screws them over in the end xD

True. Most of my experience with bootlegs involves video game soundtracks, in which almost all of those have entirely different catalog numbers. :stuck_out_tongue:

The second fake of LPU 1 has the same matrix number on the disc but in a different font.

What exactly is a ‘drill copy’, as said here (second to last article) ?
If it’s a copy of the original, couldn’t we call it fake too ?

I think it´s because of a hole in the cover, the did that normally for items they give out for free. My Reanimation DVD I got from the M&G has also a hole in the cover

K, thanks, I’m glad you told me, because I kind of misunderstanded it.
But I didn’t know you can get records at a M&G, what the fuck, you serious ? [biggrin]

They have some different items as giveaway at the M&G for people who have nothing to sign. I have something to sign but I saw the Reanimation DVD and ask Hugo if I can get this because it´s hard to find and oop. So he gave it to me as a gift
