Not too bad. A bit tired and over worked, but nothing a shot of Jack can’t cure lol.

I don’t usually drink anymore. But it is nice from time to time to take a swig from the old bottle to kinda loosen ya up a bit. And it has to be strong or it won’t work lol. I did have a bit of a drinking problem after my first combat deployment to Iraq back in 2005. On my way home we stopped it Dubai, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong and Australia. I spent over $2,000
on booze in the span of about 3 weeks.:pensive: It was at that point when I downed 11 shots of Absinthe in under an hour I realized I needed to only drink on occasion and only a little at a time. Never to get plastered. Plus I enjoy most drinks for their taste.

I think that you had to see many bad things there… :pensive: hope you’re finding more calm days in the place you are now… better to drink little to enjoy the taste and to keep yourself healty… :hugs:

I hear that. Yeah. I did and seen stuff, blood, sweat and tears all shared by my fellow brothers in arms. But in the end all was fairly well. Despite my drinking, I think it was just a coping mechanism to deal with the stress most likely. But yeah. I am good, as far as mentally. Probably not so much lol. Then again. I think I came out the same way I went it.

Terminal.

I saw something in movies, but nothing is like the reality… without stress you don’t have reasons to drink too much, so better you came out… do you still work in the army? Because I understand that you don’t, but I could be wrong… if you want to answer… :hugs:

Land

I am no longer active in the Marine Corps. My End Of Active service was September 2008, and my official End Of Service was September 2012.

As far as interpretation of what it was like over there. The movie American Sniper is pretty accurate as far as how bad it was, however imagine that but even worse. Due to some things even a dramatization based on real accounts has to be tamed to some degree so as not to really put people off.

Hell, when I was in Iraq. Chris Kyle was on overwatch when my unit was clearing towns :). Never got to meet him. he was like a ghost lol. Like a name only heard in whispers. Anyway, time for me to hit the rack. Gotta get some sleep. You have an amazing day!
