Darker Than Blood (S. Aoki ft. LP)

@amitrish I have listened to A Light That Never Comes remixes, cause I thought it’d be funny to enter the Indaba Remix contest [it was bad, really bad. I don’t know how to mix music for shit, but I was luckely not alone]. Some were actually hilarious! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Then again… In the beginning I really hated A Thousand Suns, after several years later I now love listening to it during the night times while playing Fallout or Skyrim or some similar game. I guess I agree with the screenshort from @samuel_the_leader: some LP songs eventually don’t sound too bad.

Maybe when I’m old and senile I’ll enjoy Darker than Blood more.

I wondered about that too! maybe they’ll make scenes separately with chester.

I doubt it really but we’ll see.

As for the “the songs will eventually grow on you because LP is never wrong”, I strongly disagree. Just because they are our favorite band it doesn’t mean that whatever they do or say is right. We should be able to see the bigger picture here. It is ok to not like everything they do, it’s natural. And I’m glad there are still fans who admit that.

I like it. Already prefer this one to ALTNC.
Although I find it very difficult to get used to Mike’s “Aahaahaahaah…” part, I still hate it.
Other than that, great song!

I completely agree with @evooba here. Though I understand that music is completely a matter of personal taste, saying that LP songs eventually get you is wrong. Why would you continue to listen to a song again if you didnt like it in the first place? Pity hearing? That sounds cruel. While I am a big fan of Reanimation, I think Recharged was a pathetic attempt to replicate it. ALTNC Remixes was way worse.
Amidst all this, I am still wondering which part of DTB is better than ALTNC original :stuck_out_tongue:

Nah man, I pity the fool who does that.

It’s like when you try to read a book and you don’t get it, so you put it aside. And then years later you read it again and suddenly the book makes sense to you. Music can be like that too, to me anyway.

There are tunes in the 80s I hated as a child but love to listen to now, cause of nostalgia and all that fuzzy stuff.

I think of LP’s next experiment, they should just make a Sims 5 theme song.

Sims 5 theme song? LP always does the funniest things…

By golly wow! That song’s my jam!

@Gatsie So, fans who don’t like EVERY single song of LP and who don’t agree with everything they do are fools? Wow, nice way to put it.

It’s not about the band experimenting and trying new things. I’m totally in for that and proud of them for taking the risk to do it. Sometimes though, the outcome is not my cup of tea. And I believe I, and lots of other people, are allowed to not like that outcome. It doesn’t make us fools.

Whoa @evooba, calm down for a moment :stuck_out_tongue:
I think @gatsie is saying people who do “pity hearing” are fools. Just in case I am wrong, I will join you and we will bash the hell out of Gatsie
Also, I understand the comparison between a song and a book in terms of not understanding it, and/or waiting for some time to be a bit wiser, I will give credit to you for that. But those are rare instances. Meanwhile, I do consider liking things because of nostalgia a bit biased. But yes, it varies from person to person.
Going further out of topic: None has spoken about the song DTB in a long time now hehe

This song is awesome.I was not impressed by it at the start but now it love it.

Hi, I thing “Darker Than Blood” is so interessing!!!
Different but I like :stuck_out_tongue:

@EvoOba
First: the “pity the fool” phrase is just a joke. Maybe you’ve never watched the A-Team before, they used that phrase a lot in that show. (It’s a show from the '80s so if you don’t know it I understand…).But amitrish understood me correctly; people “who listen out of pity” are foolish.

Second: I never said fans who don’t like LP’s experiments are fools. I just said that people might change their mind after a while about stuff. It happens. You grow older and the way you thought 10 years ago may not always be the same way you think 10 years later… Just saying.

In the end we all have our own tastes and opinions. Which is a good thing. Thank God for diversity.

Have a cookie.

@Gatsie Yes, I don’t know that show. Your comment just seemed you were actually calling people fools. Anyways…

@EvoOba, Well I wasn’t saying anything like that. But feel free to feel offended for nothing. Whatever floats your boat, mate. I don’t care… :grinning:

@Gatsie I was offended but you explained what you meant so I don’t see why you still think I’m not cool or something.

I like it. And I like electronic music.

DTB is not bad, but it’s not like the stuff I usually prefer. Actually, I don’t really see it as a part of the LP discography; It’s a steve aoki song and that’s what it sounds like. It won’t make it on my playlist, but it will do it for me at a party

is this real?
