true, World War history
I honestly an super fascinated by the world wars so that only makes Europe cooler

we only copied other parts of the world tho, its made to look historical but lacks the tru history that the rest of the world has

what do you mean by this?

She said the houses were all plastic, the penneling, the wood, even the wood chipper in rhe yard. A firefighter said the houses were down in five minutes.

Not sure about plastic but different materials are being used whereas plywood is now used to add rigidity to the structureā€¦

Edit:

:joy::joy::joy: plastic side paneling on the walls, trex deck in the backyard, artificial turf as grass, plastic mulch,
I get where theyā€™re coming from
But noā€¦itā€™s not to that extentā€¦

Second edit @anna834
Definitely those things are used but itā€™s expensive for one, and not everyone buys into the idea of it
We installed a loooot of turf a couple years back when California was in drought because people didnā€™t want to water yardsā€¦we do use the trex (plastic wood) for a lot of projects but thatā€™s because itā€™s more durable to rotting than woodā€¦
beyond that though I think itā€™s a natural progressionā€¦
But the homes here are just tinder for fireā€¦ last year there were huge fires that destroyed full towns to the ground because it was so dry but also just because the homes are wood frame and boards whereas elsewhere homes are sometimes built differentlyā€¦

Not just for us?
Now Im disappointed.

No, sounds cool! :+1:
If it your thing!

idk where that came from

Siding on the sides of houses is pretty commonly plastic, but the houses most often have wood frames. If not they might have concrete or steel. We have imitator materials that are meant to look and feel like wood but are more durable, but those are mostly aesthetic.

My collegeā€™s campus is actually mostly stone (hokie stone :joy:). Half of it looks straight out of medieval England (and the other half is much more modern with more metal, glass, concrete, and cube shapes, which I dig as well). Its so beautiful to walk through. A large reason of why I decided to attend.

lol that building on the left is where I lived first year, second floor right over that door

just look, ever since we learned about this building (the basilica de santa maria in Florence, Italy) I knew Europe was it. the building itself is incredible, but the city around it is beautiful as well, and the mountains in the background
