Can you touch your shoulders?

Sure. I also love them. Now I’d like to buy long ones - So called dreamcatchers.

Dreamcatchers for earrings? Sounds cool!

Do you have any other piercings?

Sorry forgot to share my earrings. Here are the ones I usually wear on Sunday.

Might try take a picture of my other ones later.

I guess the amber drops and amber suns. These are the 2 pairs I usually wear.

Yours are great. Seem very long. Looking forward to seeing your collection.

As promised, here a picture of some of the earrings I own. The collection is actually more but AM too lazy to get them all…

Is there something you have a large collection of?

I’ll get all the big ones
I use to have more earrings in the past but I gave out some of them as I couldn’t wear them anymore.

Now I guess I’ve got quite a lot of books. I’d rather have more but have no room.

What was your favorite subject at school?

Ohh, a double header! :smiling_imp:

I have pretty large collections of pennies, football cards, and pokemon cards, however these are all from a while ago. I haven’t been actively collecting anything recently.

Math was always my favorite subject in school. It made the most sense to me and I enjoyed it the most. However, against my teachers and parents recommendations, I chose to forgo a career in engineering for architecture. No regrets so far, I love it!

What is your favorite animated movie?

And yours?

lol :joy: I knew you would have something to say about that part.
It was always between architecture and engineering throughout high school for me, but eventually realized I wanted a creative outlet in my career, which architecture would allow me.

Hmmmmm…
Probably a Castle in the Sky, I’ve always loved the animation, story, and music in that one

I meant it jokingly, architecture is too complicated for me. :joy: LOL

What are you doing here?
Explaining your jokes?
Downplaying yourself again?

Could you tell me how to design a building’s face or base so that it can survive more than an asthmatic coughing on it? Not to mention the really difficult stuff like extravigant features and insane skyscrapers. I think I once read somewhere that the Burj Khalifa sways by something like 12m in the wind at the very top. Architecture is taken for granted way more than engineering is.

Okay.
Sure that you think bigger in that way.

And I for sure know nothing about architecture.
The same thing as with engineering.

Well technically architects and engineers collaborate quite a bit. Stuff such as that is all engineer work. Obviously architects know not to design buildings with a 1x1 foot base or a 100 ft cantilever, but structural engineers take care of all the specific beams and frames and such. Architects mostly focus on aesthetic and experiencial aspects, such as form and floorplan. It also depends on the type of building. With skyscrapers the engineers will have a large part in the design, but with smaller buildings, such as small commercial buildings and houses (which I am interested in), they play a smaller role and usually just double check the design at the end to make sure it will stand.

The more you know, I thought architects did the majority of everything.

lol nah :joy:
I had a similar perception to you when I first started out, but quickly realized that the majority of my peers have 0 math/engineering/physics knowledge.

We took a 2-part online course my first year that was geometry and basic calculus and it was prob the easiest class I’ve had since 7th grade and I finished it like a month early, but some kids had to drop out bec it was too difficult for them.

This past year we got our first taste of basic structural engineering courses and I’ve never seen people struggle that hard to get through a course. I was able to keep up with the material, so they basically worshipped me as a god. :joy: That was the first time I’ve seen people legit score in the teens on tests.

Thank you!
I had the same impression.
Architect draw the impressive pictures.
Engineers see that it works.
Just don’t want to be rude. :grimacing:

The wind effects, the soil condition determination, all the below skin work including framework is all done by civil/structural engineer

The liability for the Millenium tower in sf will tell you who takes care of what :joy::joy: the engineering firm on that project is In trouuuuuuble not the architect lol
And as usual they’re just shifting blame on whoever else they can
